Fossil Fuels

Understanding Fossil Fuels

Fossil fuels, consisting of oil, coal as well as natural gas, are non-renewable resources that are developed when prehistoric plants and animals passed away and were slowly hidden by layers of rock. Over hundred of thousands of years,  different nonrenewable fuel sources were created from their fossils.

Today, natural gas, oil and coal are known as fossil fuel and used for power sources to create electricity generation, or improve them for usage as gas for home heating or transport. Over the past 20 years, nearly three-fourths of human-caused exhausts came from the burning of nonrenewable fuel sources.

Coal is the largest domestically produced resource of energy in America as well as is made use of to create a substantial amount of our nation’s electricity.
